Mapping

The specific objective of work package 2 (WP2) is to explore and harness the potential of AI to revolutionize pedagogical approach and practices in HE. WP2 represents the assessment stage of the project during which partners objective is to map, identify and synthetize the concrete applications of AI-based tools in the teaching cycles: 1) content development, 2) content delivery, 3) assessment and evaluation of students’ performance.

The aim is to ease for HE teachers and educators their understanding on how AI-based resources and tool can support them in delivery quality education and enhance the learning experience for students.

Objective of WP2 is also to boost and accelerate a responsible and informed use of AI in the HE ecosystem. Focus of this assessment will be specifically on the teaching and education cycle (i.e., not academic and scientific research) and concrete uses of AI-based resources by educators to:

  • Scale up their educational framework.
  • Contribute to improve the engagement of their students and their capacity to retain information.
  • Improve the attractiveness of their courses and lectures.
  • Enhance the quality of their teaching and education material, relevance, ease of use and innovativeness.

This assessment stage is also very much in line with the general objectives of the project, being WP2 conceived to contribute to the modernisation of teaching, innovation in teaching methods and techniques in HE, and support HE teachers to implement adequate, responsible and ethical use of AI for the development and delivery of training material, and the assessment of students’ progresses.
